Let's spread some holiday cheer on the deaths of over 50% of the main cast!

I’ve seen a bit of discussion around the #zexal spoilers tag about why the accelerating death toll in this season either is or is not impactful, so I guess I’m just taking that as an opportunity to chime in with my own two cents. Of course, requisite disclaimer that this is all my opinion and I write like the humanities major that I am, so I’m basically trying to drive home a couple of points with the evidence that I have--there’s room for disagreement and nuance, obviously! In any case, I think that the deaths in ZEXAL continue to be effective for a number of reasons, and that certainly, there are other ways of evoking emotional responses from the audience, but they aren’t necessarily better than death in the context of this particular arc and narrative. I don’t believe that the death toll in ZEXAL is cheap, trite, or just done for shock value, because I think it does emphasize the consequences of the characters’ situation and struggle.

Not everyone is told to follow a specific thing, so you can talk about your own ideas and maybe post art/fic/etc. of whatever you think up!
Because, honestly, who doesn't like magical boys and girls. Especially if they're dueling.

Sooo earlier today I had nothing better to do than attempt to construct a dub cast that isn't quite so grating for ZEXAL, but I only got through Kaito (Crawford Wilson, as heard here -- you might know him as Jet from Avatar) and Shark (David Gallagher -- Riku from Kingdom Hearts) before I gave up entirely (I thought Crispin Freeman for IV but he sounds a bit too vampire); I think the actual dub was interfering with my thought process, anyway.

But! Do any of you have headcanon dub voices for characters? Oooor anything to say about the dub in general? I watch it every Saturday and it's not something I discuss much outside of my friend circle, so I'm curious!

I got REALLY EXCITED about having options for icons (oh tumblr how you have deprived us all) and a 100x100 canvas opens up a lot more opportunities for cool compositions! I don't...really care if you credit or not, all I did was crop some caps and apply the same exact filters to all of them.
